La Vecchia Osteria, Via dell’Ospedale 16
Located only a short walk away, and to the left of the gate of Via dell’Ospedale.
The Osteria serves typical Tuscan dishes in a very comfortable atmosphere. Enzo
is very efficient, and every now and again you’ll see his rare, lovely smile.
Outside seating is available for warm days. Open throughout the day. |

Recommended by Frances Mayes in her book “In Tuscany”, Al Travato is a truly
special place, serving delicious regional specialties, with an extensive wine

Breads, wines and accompaniments are available here. Fra Pacifico is a great
place to pick up a few things for a picnic. You can also enjoy a nice coffee on
the sunny patio.

In the Monterchi New Town is a nice pizzeria: |

The rooms of the lively pizzeria are on the ground floor of the main house.
The simple pizzas are very tasty. Families will enjoy this place. You can order
take-out here. There is also a nice restaurant on the first floor. |

Another favourite is only 2 km. away, towards Anghiari: |
Castello di Sorci, Via San Lorenzo, 21
This restaurant is located in a large, old farmhouse. The fixed price menu
(reduced for children) is very reasonable, and includes traditional, local
dishes. You can have seconds of any of the platters! Red or white wine and water
are on the tables, and are included in the price. There is a headless ghost that
is reportedly seen on occasion. This restaurant is a fun experience, where tables
occasionally break out into song. We have a very light lunch if we decide to have
dinner here! |
